It is a beautiful day in the high 50’s today and the sun is shining brightly. I have to go to work at 3 pm but have an hour or two to spare to work in the garden.

Our History:

I am an ‘urban gardener’ in Elgin Illinois. I LOVE to garden although I have had no formal training. I learn by a lot of trial and error and have a list of plant favorites that serve me well. We have had a habit of moving every 3 years or so, so unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of seeing a garden mature. Maybe this time.

We live on a corner lot that is shady in the back due to several very old tress. I have a perennial garden out front off to the side of the house and I plan on getting it certified as a Monarch…
